WELCOME TO LUMIA, where we center curiosity, the wisdom and guidance of the body, and attuned, relational safety as the most crucial elements in healing.
Trained under Dr. Gabor Maté, I aim to foster connection and compassionate awareness of all facets of ourselves. I recognize that the primary source of our suffering often comes from disconnection from the deepest parts of who we are, and that the adaptive coping strategies we develop in response to disconnection and past experiences can be transformed as we heal.
At Lumia, I care most deeply about the quality of my relationship with you, our exploration of who you are, and expanding safe space to work through your challenges - releasing pain and shame - and elevating your victories. Moving beyond symptom management, we’ll uncover and integrate your internal and external experiences, locate the answers already within you, and create new ways of being and interacting in the world that are rooted in restoring relationships and connection with who you are, your innate resources, desires, and deep capacity to flourish.

I live and work on Tlingit Land.
Born and raised in Southeast Alaska from a lineage of Scottish, Norwegian and English settlers, I have studied and traveled widely abroad, but Deishú / Haines land and community are my forever home.
I enjoy bread, books, traveling, sunbathing, swimming, late night baking and ambling down coastal trails when the wild roses, lupin and irises are in bloom. I laugh often and love spending time with family.

I practice with 9 years of training - most recently and currently under world renowned complex trauma expert, Dr. Gabor Maté - and 10 years of research / policy, community-based, and direct practice experience. I work from a holistic, bio-psycho-social model of care & integrative body-mind perspective. This means that I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities, using an eco-somatic (body-based and context-conscious) framework, as well as polyvagal guided, parts work, and compassionate inquiry techniques tailored to each person's unique needs and goals.

I'm available to work online with anyone physically present in the state of Alaska, and anyone in Haines, AK either online or at my Oceanside Suites office downtown.*
In an effort to provide services to folks with a variety of scheduling needs, I offer availability in and outside of typical business hours, both in-person and online. My current hours are:
Wednesday - Thursdays 12 - 8pm
Saturday: 9am - 3pm
*My practice is currently full, but I am continuing to offer free consults and maintain a waitlist for those interested in establishing care with me.
